Promoting Your Events to the World

Welcome to the home page for EMIPUBS.com

Please pardon the construction dust as I continue to bring things online. Unfortunately, you will encounter some broken links to some of the subsidiary sites, but I am fixing them as quickly as possible. The site for NELITS has been created and a few pages will be online within days. I have contracted with a local firm to create a logo for this site. While I have not given up on finding just the right designers for the work I want to get done, I have ventured ahead and have spent the past few weeks learning how to use Adobe Dreamweaver and CSS. Some of the work by previous contractors also caused issues with hosting my sites but I think these issues have been resolved. What is online now is my first stab at website design since 2001. Links that are formatted as bold are active sites, while linked sites that are not bold are in various stages of development.

"EMIPUBS" is an abbreviation for Events Magazines Inc., (EMI) and Publications (PUBS). This is the starting page to learn more about EMI and the subsidiary websites; NELITS.com and other sites that are listed further down on this page. EMI is pronounced as you would say the letter “M” and then the letter “E” as in the Academy Award, “Emmy”. Through these websites and others, I am going to be resuming publishing information about events happening throughout the United States, its territories, and other nations to come. The event listings will be FREE for everyone to browse and copy for personal use.

EMI is a database publisher and this is important for two reasons. First, I want to provide you with an option other than endless queries to find what you want to see, do, buy, sell, or get a job. Therefore and using event listings as an example, I publish webpage editions geographically to create a calendar of events so that you can find events happening close to wherever you are located or going. I begin the process by publishing the event listings on a webpage for a registered venue. I then start the process of rolling things forward to combine events for multiple venues and publish a "calendar" of event listings happening in the locality where the venues are located. I repeat this process by rolling the event listings into webpages or "calendars" of events by zipcode, city, county, ZIP3, and by state. ZIP3 is a geographical area that combines all zipcodes that start with the first three digits of the zipcode. These calendars will list multiple types of events happening in the order of their start times. When you are looking for something to do, you can just go to the page for your favorite venue to see what is happening there. If nothing interests you, jump to your locality/neighborhood and keep moving onto a larger and larger geographical area until you find something you want to do. You could print the page or just come back to the page whenever you want. All of this is provide for you FREE.

Secondly and because I use a database to publish, you could query the database for a geographical location or for a specific type of event such as a concert. Geographically, you know your own zipcode so you could query the database for your zipcode and get to the page of all sorts of things happening in your zipcode. What if you are traveling to visit family or friends? You may not know their zipcode, but you could query their city. Maybe you want to be more specific with your query to find just the concerts happening in a zipcode or a city; and you could query the database to get a list of concerts. I want to make it easy for you to find things to do near your home or as you travel. This too is provided to you for FREE. Each of the various websites will have printable pages that you can view repeatedly or take with you when you travel.

The first few pages for EMIPUBS.com have been activated and the next step will be to bring NELITS.com online which will serve as site to quickly locate events in every locality within the United States. The final stages for NELITS.com will be to implement the database for subscriptions and for the posting of the events.

While things are ramping up, there will be very limited event listings posted online. This will include the scheduled shows at the Flat Rock Playhouse in Flat Rock, NC, Arena Stage, in Washington, DC, and The State Theatre in Falls Church, VA. These listings will be FREE for everyone. Please click on the navigation buttons at the top of this page to visit About NELITS page for the current schedules for these three venues.

These sites will publish issues based on EMI’s geographical system of publications.

NELITS.com is the primary entry point for most venues and individuals and it will provide event listings that are open to the public. It will be FREE for all viewers, but there will be a subscription system for venues and individuals that schedule public events.

There will be a subscription system for listing their location and their specials.

The following sites will be published independently and will not be based on geographical locations.

Day-Emmart-Foundation.org (with sub-account, Day-Emmart-Foundation.com) this is a members only, non-profit organization for members of the Day-Emmart Family Tree.
